yet another dream. an ice sculpture ballet if you will....

We were there on an unfortunate thick gray day, so we couldn't see the glacier that all these sculptures are breaking off of, it is behind the lake. The lake is also half salt water, its actually connected to a beach. So it never freezes over. (except in 007 Die Another Day, they filmed here and blocked off the water flow from the ocean for a few weeks so that there was little enough salt water that it would freeze. Then they let it freeze, filmed a scene on top of the ice, and then let the ocean water back in. oh, hollywood.)

sorry about my horribly filthy lens in these pictures. i was too spellbound to even notice it when we were there.

And don't worry, this was my last iceland post. for a while.
