being in marrakech involves a lot of shopping in the souk and eating of coconut macroon cookies that ladies sell on the square for 1 dirham a piece, about thirteen cents. the square by day is shopping, snake charming and carriage riding. the square by night is a totally different place. there are story tellers, magic tricks, mysterious dancers, carnival games, and dining carts. there is this ginger spice tea here that would clear any sinuses it is so strong. the same cart sells a spice cake that is literally a sand castle made out of spices. all they did was mix spices with something wet to make them stick together, and then mold into a cake shape. don't eat it, it tastes like a spicy sand castle. the tea is much better.

david got really sick the first night we are on the square, like the third day we were here. he got broken into travel-stomach really quickly. and then I have been sick for the last couple of days. we feel like we have paid our dues now and are hoping we can not get sick from food anymore on this trip. cross your fingers.

marrakech's souks sells some of the best stuff, we bought a few treasures. we walked to the other side of the city and found ourselves in the antique markets, we wanted to scoop it all up and take it home. if only. we need to get out of morocco, i want to buy so much stuff and we are on a budget.
