fez has a huge medina that can be travelled on foot only. it was sort of overwhelming at times, we needed to get out above the city for a breather a few times. one such time we got suckered into buying a rug after going upstairs in a riad for a "free panoramic view". im happy we found it though, it is the rug of my dreams. every person finds the rug of their dreams in morocco. i had seen pictures of what i thought was a big factory for dyes and fabrics online before, it is one of the reasons i wanted to visit fez in the first place. turns out its a tannery. we got within a kilometer of it and smelled it, then decided not to visit it.

rabat had a nice cemetery who's graves looked like cradles. its was weird to think of the circle of life that way. overall rabat was not tourist friendly though. we spent one night, found a nice cafe overlooking the water, and then decided to take the next train out.
