the dome of the rock. i have wanted to visit this for a long time. aside from my interest in the building's history, i love the tile and the combination of bright mosaic with the more natural colored marble underneath. it was cloudy while we were the, but the sun came out for about .2 seconds to take the top picture of it glowing.

sarah, i so wish we could have met for coffee while you were here in israel! it's rare that i get to see someone from the states that isn't in a mob tourist group, ha.
